FAQ
How do I get started?
This process can feel overwhelming. Please call me for a free consultation and we can talk about what you are looking for and whether we might be a fit. After we decide to schedule an appointment, there is an online portal you join to fill out necessary paperwork. I usually suggest meeting weekly for about a month, and then we can decide on the frequency of appointments that feels right for you.
What is the free phone consultation like?
This conversation can be very relaxed and informal. It is your opportunity to decide if you would like to meet with me. You can tell me as much or as little about what you are coming to therapy for, and I will answer all appropriate questions you may have.
What happens during a first session?
The first time we meet typically focuses on getting to know each other. The most common question is “Why me, why now?” In other words, what led you to choose counseling with Baille and at this point in time. We may also start to explore other avenues of your life, your interests. Overall, we start to lay some foundation for our work together, but the structure is flexible and the conversation will vary with each individual.
Is my information kept confidential?
Our conversations remain between you and me, adherent to HIPPA standards. If a parent, family member or partner is involved in your journey with me at any level, you as my client will always be the priority and I am transparent about any communication. There are some exceptions to confidentiality when it comes to safety, which we will discuss more extensively when we meet.
What kind of techniques do you practice?
I am an IFS (Internal Family Systems) therapist. This approach views people as a sum of individual parts (the basic idea of the Pixar movie 'Inside Out") and focuses on fully integrating the mind, body and spirit using practical techniques. This then equips clients to enter the unknown in the external world from a more Self-led place.
Do you offer virtual therapy?
Since the start of the pandemic, I have been conducting sessions via Zoom. As of April 2022, I am also available a couple of days per week for in-person sessions at 983 Old Eagle School Road, Wayne, PA 19087.
What COVID-19 precautions are you taking?
I am currently sub-leasing an office within a colleague’s practice. She has the offices cleaned weekly, and I wipe down shared surfaces frequently. There is also hand sanitizer available. There is ample circulation in the office area, and clients are welcome to wear masks until we enter the office and take a seat. I am fully vaccinated, and I ask that all clients who are interested in meeting in-person be fully vaccinated as well. I feel that there is vital information we gather from facial expressions, so I do not perform sessions with masks on. I will continue to have open availability virtually for any clients who are unable to or uncomfortable with meeting in the office.
What is your cancellation/no-show policy?
Life happens, plans change. It is always an option to reschedule or cancel appointments. To avoid a cancellation fee*, you must provide notice (by call, text or email) 24 hours before the scheduled appointment. That time frame allows me to offer your time slot to another client. On the day of appointments, there is a 15-minute grace period for standard 50-minute sessions. After that amount of time, the appointment is considered a no-show and treated just like a late cancellation. The full session fee is owed for late cancellations and no-shows.
*If you are sick or have an emergency, the fee may be waived.
How will I know if therapy is working?
This is an important question, and one that I feel is best answered collaboratively. I encourage you to check in with me and ask any questions, share any feedback you have. This is your journey, I am here to collaborate with you and help guide you down a path we create together. We can check in as often as you like to define and note progress.
How long will I be in therapy?
This question is difficult to answer, as it is very individualized. Some people come to me with very specific concerns and goals, while others may have a slight curiosity about making some changes in their lives. Regardless of where you fall on that spectrum, there are several factors that contribute to the overall length of our time together. The frequency of our sessions and external life factors are just two examples.
How often should I come?
I usually suggest that we start by meeting weekly for at least a few weeks. This allows us to lay some foundation and for you and your system to get used to the process of meeting. Your circumstances and goals will certainly be major factors in determining the schedule we set.
What are your fees?
Cost for one virtual session is $180. In-person sessions are $200.
Do you take insurance?
I am an Out Of Network (OON) provider. This means that I am able to provide you with necessary documentation to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Not all insurance companies accept OON claims, and each insurance plan can have a separate policy. Please check with your specific plan to see what is offered.
